Client Requirement

The Client experienced rapid growth from £4.5m to £18m over a period of five years. The issues facing the Client were as follows:

  • Increasing number of Motor Claims
  • Health and Safety Management policies and procedures were now insufficient for the Client’s requirements
  • The contract wordings to which the Client was now required to commit were becoming more varied and onerous

UK & Global Solution

Following our investigation and review the following initiatives were implemented:

  • More direct instructions were issued by the Client to the company car users and vehicle tracking was introduced with feedback given to drivers
  • Workplace Risk Management Ltd were commissioned by UK & Global to undertake an Audit which subsequently led to a schedule of Improvements being agreed for the next 12-24 months
  • The Client was encouraged to forward individual contract wordings to UK & Global to enable review and feedback on Insurance and Indemnity clauses

Outcome & Benefit to the Client

  • The Client experienced a year on year reduction in the number of “Fault” Motor Claims with the annual premium per vehicle improving from £965 + IPT to £675 + IPT over a three year period
  • The Board was more confident that the Company had become increasingly compliant with Legislation and the Client’s EL Insurer was able to more robustly defend the small number of EL claims which were reported
  • The Client’s Project Managers were provided with technical assistance and recommendations to amend contract wordings in order to reduce / minimise the Client’s liabilities and exposures
